What Barcode Generator does
The BDK Barcode Generator makes retail and warehouse barcodes in your browser. Pick EAN-13, EAN-8 or Code 128, type the value and download the barcode as a sharp SVG or a PNG.
For EAN codes the tool checks the check digit for you, or adds it when you enter one digit fewer. For many codes at once, paste one value per line and print them as a sheet.

How to use Barcode Generator
- Choose the barcode type.
- Type or paste the value. For EAN, 12 digits (EAN-13) or 7 digits (EAN-8) get the check digit added.
- Check the preview and the message under it.
- Download SVG or PNG, or press Print.
- For a list, paste one value per line and press Preview and print list.
Frequently asked questions
What is the check digit on an EAN barcode?
It is the last digit, calculated from the others, so scanners can catch typing mistakes. This tool adds it when you leave it out and tells you if the one you typed is wrong.
Which type should I use for my own stock codes?
Use Code 128 for internal codes with letters and numbers. EAN-13 and EAN-8 are for numbers registered for retail products.
Is a code made here a registered product number?
No. This tool draws the barcode. Registered retail numbers come from your national GS1 organisation.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Barcodes are drawn in your browser and nothing is sent to BusyDayKit.
Has Code 128 been tested with scanners?
The bars follow the Code 128 standard, but please scan a printed sample with your own scanner before printing a large batch.
